Hi everyone!

Praise God for all Maddie has been able to accomplish these past few days.  Although she did not like the lowfat formula the first time, she quickly picked up and was eating more than the doctors expected by the next day and her intake has been increasing everyday.  Boy does food make a difference!  She’s now smiling to the nurses and doctors and has been laughing quite a bit as well!

She is getting stronger everyday too (see tummy time from yesterday below)!

Maddie‘s had two x-rays since her transfer back to Inova and both have shown no sign of any effusions.  She will have another today (Monday) to confirm that that’s still the case.  Being closer to home has allowed more visit from grandparents/aunts/Abby(!)  Maddie had a visitor packed weekend and finally got to see Abby after 5 weeks!!

 

With Maddie‘s eating progress, the doctors were actually comfortable discharging her as early as today, but Jen requested to have more time to learn various things to be more prepared for home recovery after leaving the hospital.  We praise God for Maddie‘s remarkable progress these past few weeks and ask for prayers that she will continue to recover well at home.
